- Community Outreach Lead – Penticton, BC.
- Community Outreach Lead – Northern, BC.
SPIRIT North is an organization committed to improving the health and well-being of Indigenous children and youth, through the transformative power of sport and play. Established in 2009, Spirit North now works in over 30 communities, reaching an average of 5,000 children and youth annually with programming designed to promote health, foster resilience, develop life skills and inspire meaningful, lasting change.
The Opportunity: SPIRIT North has 2 contracted full-time coaching positions available. One is located in the community of Penticton, and one is located in Northern BC.
1) Penticton: Reporting to the Program Manager, SPIRIT North is seeking an outstanding candidate to provide leadership and assume responsibility for Program Delivery to the First Nations children and youth in the First Nations community of Penticton Indian Band.
2) Northern BC: Reporting to the Program Manager, SPIRIT North is seeking an outstanding candidate to provide leadership and assume responsibility for Program Delivery to the First Nations children and youth in the First Nations communities of Moricetown (near Smithers) and Kitsumkalum (near Terrace).
The Fit: This is an exciting opportunity for exceptional leaders with coaching experience, enthusiasm for children and youth, and cultural sensitivity toward the Indigenous community. Successful candidates will possess basic CC (community coaching) levels, xc-ski abilities, and strong communication, motivational, presentation and organizational skills. This position requires a willingness to work flexible hours, travel and contribute to a team environment.
